DeepRoots transforms land restoration by connecting landowners with backers to fund innovative tree planting projects. Whether it's agroforestry or habitat restoration, DeepRoots makes it easy to support your local nature restoration projects.

Project selection

Start by exploring our regenerative, tree planting projects to support. We carefully select agroforestry, rewilding, and reforestation initiatives to work with and offer on our platform.

Funding trees

Once you’ve found a project you like, simply choose the type and number of trees you want to plant.

Different tree species provide unique benefits to the local environment and rural economy.

Earn & spend points

In return for purchasing trees, you receive points which you can exchange for rewards in our marketplace.

The points can be exchanged in our marketplace for regenerative food hampers, restaurant discounts, farm tours, ecotourism stays, sustainable merchandise, and other rewards!

You will be able to see updates from the land owner about your funded trees or plants, showing how your backing is helping restore nature.

FAQ

  • The price you pay includes:

    • The cost of sourcing the specified tree

    • The cost of planting it

    • The cost of any required tree protection, such as tree guards and stakes

    • The cost of insurance/cost of replacing lost or damage trees

    • Our platform maintenance costs (e.g., hosting, payment fees)

    • A 5%-10% fee for DeepRoots

  • In your personal dashboard, you will receive updates about the project and your specific tree. These updates will include regular photos showing your tree in the ground. Since all of our projects are with local farmers, you may also want to visit the farm and see your tree in person. This can be arranged by selecting the ‘Farm tour’ reward in our marketplace.

  • Fruit trees are typically much more expensive than woodland trees, which are sold by most other tree-planting organisations. Our prices also cover the cost of planting and providing necessary tree support to ensure that every tree we plant has the best chance of surviving and thriving

  • Once a given tree has sold out for a given project it is unlikely to be back on sale. You can purchase other trees from the same project or invest in the same tree for other projects.

  • Unfortunately all purchases are final and we can’t offer a return. This is because our trees are planted as soon as possible, which can be immediately after we receive your order. See our T&Cs.

  • You automatically earn points based on the purchases from our store. The amount of points you earn for a given purchase will be indicated in the tree’s description in our store.

  • You redeem our points by logging in to our rewards platform at https://rewards.deeproots.ag where you can choose from a selection of eligible rewards. Make sure to check back regularly as we add more rewards to our store.

  • Yes, you can collect DeepRoots points through our partners, such as selected top-tier nature-first retailers and premium organic food outlets.

  • No, points cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • The recipient of your gift will be given access to their dashboard, where the new points will be added.

  • Yes, points will expire after 12 months of earning them.

  • Please check the rewards page regularly as we keep adding new exciting rewards.

    You can also purchase a new tree to top up your balance.

  • Some rewards can only be claimed if you purchase a tree for the specific project that offers the rewards. You can see the project name in the rewards description, and clicking on it will take you to trees that can be purchased to make that reward available to you.
